Central government: Details of Approved Universities available online

Every year, this is the time when students who complete schooling apply for various courses to join universities/colleges. The students need to pay great attention, especially while selecting the universities as they have to be aware of a number of bogus universities.
The government has also been emphasizing the need for students to be careful while selecting the universities.
In this scenario, the central government has made an announcement regarding the bogus universities in India.
The central government released a news item today (Friday, 6th March) that there more than 22 bogus universities functioning in several states.
As per UGC (University Grants Commission) information, 22 bogus universities are functioning in several states in India violating the UGC Law 1956.
There are 9 bogus universities in Uttar Pradesh and 5 in Delhi.
There are 2 bogus universities in West Bengal. 1 bogus university functions in each of the states of Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
In order to know more about these bogus universities, the students need to visit the central government`s website www.knowyourcollege-gov.in.
