Posted on: 05/May/2016 5:50:50 PM
Most of the auto manufacturers in India are seeing rapid growth in sales in the month of April. It has been quite a few months since the sector saw such sales, particularly after 2016 Union Budget. Following the blanket ban that disallowed diesel vehicles, most manufacturers are affected a lot.

There is a positive movement of the range 11 percent of around 2.47 lakh units. The manufacturers have their hopes pinned to this increase in sales and look forward for the rest of the months in the ongoing fiscal year.

Maruthi

There is 16 percent growth (1,17,045 units) with the largest manufacturer in India, Maruthi. The manufacturer experiences increased demand across segments with slight slack for Manesar-carmaker and a 10 percent fall is seen in Alto and WagonR.

Hyundai

The volume of sales last year is carried over this year as well. Sales of 42,351 units is seen last month and there is y-o-y growth of 9.7 percent. There is a demand for Creta, Elite i20 and Grand i10, says Rakesh Srivastava, senior vice-president for sales and marketing.

Mahindra and Mahindra

With sales of 22,655 vehicles, Mahindra and Mahindra is enjoying a 16 percent growth now. The company is striving to upkeep its growth momentum, but remains bothered about ban on large diesel vehicles prevailing in Delhi.

Renault

Renault has become a household name of late in India. Its small car Kwid has seen the same exact success as seen by Duster SUV last year. There is 200 percent y-o-y growth seen in April with sales of 12,426 unit.

There is 7.9 percent growth in April 2016. There was 11,161 units sales in 2015 and the same is 10,341 this year. Honda is among the top players in car manufacture in India and has seen a downward spike during previous month. There is fall in sales by 17 percent with 10,486 units sold.
