With 17 contestants (and NOTA), 2 EVMs to be deployed in Bhuvanagiri Constituency

The list of candidates in the 234 constituencies in Tamil Nadu State Legislative Assembly Election has been finalised.
The Election Commission is now earnestly engaged in sending EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) to the constituencies.
There are 9 constituencies in Cuddalore district. Out of these, there are 17 contestants (maximum) in the Bhuvanagiri constituency and 10 contestants (minimum) in the Kattumannarkoil Constituency.
Only 16 symbols (including NOTA) can be registered in a single EVM.
However, in Bhuvanagiri constituency, there are 18 contestants including NOTA. So, there is a need for registering 18 symbols. So, the election officials had to send 2 EVMs to this constituency. Only one EVM is given to all the other 233 constituencies.
In this election, the contestants’ photo also will be displayed in the EVM.
The facility for the voters to know who they voted for is being introduced in the Cuddalore constituency.
