Rates of non-subsidized cooking gas, non-PDS kerosene and aviation turbine fuel goes up

Posted on: 02/May/2016 2:16:37 PM
Since the petroleum products have escalated in the international markets, the rates of non-subsidized cooking gas, non-PDS kerosene and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) were raised. The petrol and diesel were raised last midnight.

Though the prices of petroleum products have been decreasing in the international markets, the Indian Government had not reduced the price of petroleum products. Only if the international market comes down for the fourth time, the Indian Government will reduce once but it will not increase the price.

But after few months for the first time, the prices of the petroleum products have drastically increased in the international market. Based on this the Indian government has also increased the prices. Petrol price was on Saturday hiked by Rs 1.06 per litre while diesel rate was increased by Rs 2.94 per litre. Following this, the government announced the price increase of kerosene.

The rate of kerosene sold to the non-ration card segment outside the subsidized public distribution system went up by nearly Rs 3 per litre. The price of non-subsidized LPG - which consumers buy after exhausting their quota of 12 cylinders per year - was raised by Rs 18 per 14.2-kg cylinder while that of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was increased by 1.5 per cent or Rs 627 per kilolitre.
