Unemployment problem will increase in India

Posted on: 29/Apr/2016 2:12:38 PM
It has been warned that only 50 percent of the people have employment amongst the eligible people. In another 35 years, there will be increase in the unemployment problem.

Latest Asia-Pacific Human Development Report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) mentions that a study  between 1991 and 2013  revealed that in India out of 30 Crore eligible people only 14 crores people were employed.

Now 10 Lakhs people get employment per month on average basis.

3 Crore eligible people for employment are now pursuing higher studies.

India, for example, will see the maximum number in 2050, when the population aged 15-64 is expected to be more than 28 Crores.

At a time in a country like India which is highly populated people will be migrating from village to cities. Importance should be given to industries which generate more jobs.

Since China gives much importance to industries, the poverty line has come down.

In India the manufacturing base is still small, contributing to only 15 percent of GDP and 11 percent of employment.

Only if the manufacturing base grows, we can reduce unemployment.
