  • All school books must be kept in the school itself for classes up to 2nd Standard.
  • The students in high school should refrain from bringing heavy notebooks.
  • The teachers should confirm that the students bring books as per the day`s timetable.
  • The teaching of the syllabus should facilitate group discussions and should enable understanding of the lessons.
  • The homework should be evenly spread throughout the academic year. It should not be stuffed in huge quantums.
  • Other activities related to the syllabus must be included in the teaching sessions. This will reduce the book burden.
  • The school administration should conduct session with the parents of the students regarding reducing  the intensity of lessons and also using bags which do not produce pains while carrying.
  • The practice of using thick wrappers for the books and notebooks must be stopped,
  • The schools should make arrangements for the students to keep their uniforms, sports kits, and notebooks in the school itself.
The press release from CBSE emphasises the need for the school administration and teachers to implement these suggestions immediately
