Chief Election Official Rajesh Lakhoni - agreement with Facebook on election awareness

Chief Election Officer Mr. Rajesh Lakhoni, with the approaching elections in 5 states in the country, has informed that agreement has been signed by the Election Commission with Facebook regarding awareness of election among the public in a joint effort.
He informed that Tamil Nadu is the leading the country in the field of technology.
So, trying to derive maximum advantage with this, the Ejection Commission has made an agreement with Facebook.
The Election Commission had discussions with Facebook`s General Policy Director for South & Central Asia, Mr. Angi Das. Joint efforts by Facebook and the Election Commission will be undertaken to conduct an election awareness campaign among the public.
Tamil Nadu has 5.79 Crore voters. Out of this, 1.80 Crore voters are Facebook users.
On 15th & 16th May, whenever any user enters the Facebook, the announcement reminding to vote will appear on the monitor screen, Facebook has agreed to provide this service free of cost on these 2 days.
With the link provided by Facebook, the website of the Election Commission can also be browsed. It is also possible to directly telecast meeting with press reporters and election results as well.
