Android Auto now available in India

In an official tweet, Google`s Android has said that it has rolled out its new in car operating system Android Auto in 18 new countries. These countries include India, Brazil, Russia, Chile, Switzerland, Columbia, Paraguay and Venezuela, among others.
An Android Auto compatible vehicle or aftermarket radio, along with an Android phone running 5.0 Lollipop or higher is needed to use Android Auto. Android Auto displays applications on the vehicle`s screen when the phone is connected to the vehicle or the radio.
A recent report has said, Android Auto is now available in 29 countries across the world and it is compatible with models from car makers including Audi, Honda, Volkswagen. Stereos makers like Kenwood and Pioneer have also manufactured compatible models. In India, Mahindra XUV 500 was the first car to come with Android Auto support and will offer the same with its new Scorpio. Hyundai will soon launch its 2017 Elantra variant with Android Auto and its rival - Apple CarPlay support. This roll out is being touted as one of Android Auto`s biggest ones so far. Three of them - Brazil, India, and Russia are among the fastest growing auto markets in the world.
