Tamil Nadu Government: All employees to have paid holiday on Election Day

The Department of Labor Welfare has insisted that all employees must be given a paid holiday on the Election Day.
A brief on the press release today (Thursday, 7th April) on this issue from the Collector of the Department of Labour Welfare:
Elections for Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly is scheduled on 16th May.
So, all employees including the construction labourers must be given a holiday on this date.
The wages for this holiday will be whatever is the paid daily wage and it should not be less than what has been recommended as minimum wage as set by Tamil Nadu government depending on the nature of work.
