National Savings Certificate/ Kisan Vikas Patra certificate on electronic - mode (e-mode)

The Finance Ministry said that it has decided that the currently existing system of physical pre-printed certificates for KVP and NSC shall stand discontinued w.e.f April 1, 2016 and shall be replaced by National Savings Certificate/ Kisan Vikas Patra certificate on electronic - mode (e-mode).
In view of this the Department of Posts plans to shift to electronic mode of issuing these certificates soon. At present, KVP certificates are issued under various denominations from Rs.1, 000 to Rs. 50,000 and NSC at denominations up to Rs.10,000.
Once the electronic mode is in place, customers will be given one certificate or one entry in the passbook.
