23rd NATIONAL FIHPA AT CHENNAI TRADE CENTRE

The Federation of Indian Hire Purchase Associations (FIHPA), the apex body representing the regional affiliated association involved in asset finance Business organized its 23rd National Convention at Chennai Trade Centre on 24th June 2011 for NBFCs & Partnerships and individual asset financiers.
FIHPA, set up in 1976, it is among the oldest bodies in the sector serving the finance Industry for the last three and a half decades.
The convention was inaugurated by Sri A.K. Bansal, Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank. T.T. Srinivasaraghavan Managing Director, Sundaram Finance Ltd., was the Chief Guest in the valedictory session.
The subjects covered were as follows:
� Partnership Vs NBFC, Strength, Weakness and Solutions The speakers for the session were Shri Madanlal Gundecha, Chairman, Gundecha Finance Corporation and Shri Venkatesan S., CFO, Sundaram Finance Limited.
� Funding and Reorganization for Small Financiers. The speaker for the session was Smt. Subhashri, Executive Director, Shriram City Union Finance Limited.
� Arbitration, Insurance Claims, Settlements, Transfers and Related Issues. The speakers for the session were Shri Sundar S.R., Senior Advocate, Madras High Court and Shri Ramarajan, Senior Advocate, Madras High Court
� State Money Lenders Act � Issues. The speaker for the session was Shri Srinivasan S., Vice President, Royal Sundaram Alliance and General Insurance Company Limited
� An overview of Commercial Vehicles Business. The speaker for the session was Shri Dilip Moolchandani, President, Eastern Regional Office, Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited
� Recovery, Repossession and Information on Interaction with various Government Agencies. The speaker for the session was Shri Ramman Aggarwal, Co Chairman, Finance Industry Development Council
