Accusing the government of making "false promises" on the Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare and his team has said it has proved that the UPA was not serious about fighting corruption.
Threatening to restart his protest against corruption, Mr Hazare said, "The government is not serious about a corruption-free India...If there had to be two drafts, why have a joint committee?" he asked while talking to mediapersons yesterday.
"The government has only been making false promises. They have taken a U-turn on the Bill after giving several assurances. It is now clear that they have no intention to fight corruption. They want to bring out a Jokepal Bill," he quipped.
Asked what he will do if the government tried a similar approach as during Yoga Guru Ramdev`s protest, the 72-year-old activist said, "I am not afraid of bullets or lathicharge. I will continue with my non-violent protest. When I have decided to `Do or Die` then why get scared".
