E-tolling system soon on National Highways

E-tolling system will be soon introduced on National Highways. This will be done in tie up with banks. There are lots of toll gates on the national highways. At present, drivers have to wait for a long time and get their receipts after paying the tolls.
To avoid the waste of time at toll plazas the Centre will by April complete an electronic toll collection (ETC) system which will eliminate the need for commuters and commercial vehicles to stop at toll plazas, thus reducing loss of time and fuel. This will be done through prepaid RFID tags which can be put on vehicles. The toll amount will be automatically deducted as they pass the plazas. There are 360 toll plazas across the country on national highways
