Over 10,000 vacancies with the central government

Vacancies with the central government are being filled through Staff Selection Commission. The Combined Graduate Level Examination is set to be conducted for the same. This takes place in two phases.
The first phase will consist of objective questions from general knowledge, reasoning, basic mathematics, and general English. In the second phase, mathematics and English questions will be asked. Until last year, there were face-to-face interview included in the combined graduate level exam. As the central government has cancelled the face-to-face interview for Group-B and Group-C, there will be no interview session from this year. Hence, one can be assured of a job with the centre just by accomplishing the written exam.
To be eligible for the test, the candidate must be a graduate in any educational stream. The age limit varies depending on the position applied for. It varies between 27 and 32. There will be relaxation to reservation candidates.

- Assistant audit officer
Positions under Group C:
- Auditor
- Accountant
- Senior assistant
- Tax assistant
- Assistant inspector with Drug prevention department
Though there is no announcement regarding the total number of vacant positions, it is expected that over 10,000 positions will be filled through these examinations. The tier-1 examination is set to take place on 8th and 22nd of May 2016. The online application has to be submitted on or before 10th of March at sscregistration.nic.in. Details including marks for each and every subject, syllabus for examination, application procedure, etc can be obtained at the official site - www.ssc.nic.in. In general, students from Tamil Nadu lack in have enough awareness about these exams conducted by the recruitment board. There are very less candidates taking up these tests every year. However, this year, as there are several vacancies and as the direct interview is cancelled, more number of candidates Tamil Nadu are likely to take up the test.
