India is the 3rd in the world on passport distributions

A senior official from the Ministry of External Affairs informed that India stood 3rd among the world countries regarding the maximum issue of passports.
The Joint-secretary of the Ministry of external Affairs, Mr. Mukthesh K. Pardeshi, informed that India stands in the 3rd position after China & USA for the maximum number of passports issued.
As compared to the year 2010, the number of persons who got passports in the year 2015 has doubled.
Between the years 2010 & 2014, 60 lakh persons were issued passports.
As compared to this, in the year 2015 alone, 1.2 Crore persons have been issued passports.
The passport service center was inaugurated in 2010.
Presently, there are 37 passport offices and 90 passport service centres functioning in India, according to Mr. Pardeshi.
