A new App, an Android mobile app which enables users to report cases of child abuse, named as `Child Rights Monitor (CRM)`, and to get information on child rights, request and provide support, was launched on Tuesday, 16th February. Mary Anne Charity Trust (MACT) has developed this App. It is available in English and Tamil and can be downloaded from the Google Play store.

S.Cyril Alexander, Executive Director, MACT, shared that the app enables users to report incidents of child abuse, become a `child rights advocate` (volunteer or take part in campaigns), request for support from childcare institutions and get information on child rights. Users can click a picture or send a voice message if they see a child being abused. The information is sent to the concerned agency and local area volunteers will reach the place and rescue the child, Information relayed through the CRM app will be received by trained volunteers at a call center located at the MACT office in Kodambakkam in Chennai, who have access to a state-wide database of child care NGOs and private homes.
