Modernised Philately centre inaugurated at Trichy - for the 1st time in Tamil Nadu

With a view to encourage youth to take interest in Philately, a modernized philately center has been recently inaugurated at Trichy Head Post Office Complex.
It is worth noting that this modernized philately center has been set up in Trichy for the 1st time in the state of Tamil Nadu.
Under the theme, The birth of our Nation, there is a section which display stamps regarding founding of Indian National Congress, Swadesi movement, Jalianwallabagh massacre, Dandi March, quit India movement., etc depicting various stages of independence struggle.
The other themes fro displays include delivering the post at the last milestone, and celebration of Indian Culture.
The philately center sells the latest stamps, postal envelopes, packets, and the collection of stamps released in a particular year.
The philately center is open for visitors without any fare on all weekdays except government holidays from 10.00 AM till 5.00 PM.
