Laundry apps take city by storm

Washing and dry cleaning apps have been receiving positive feedback in the city. The services, which include ironing, has been taken up by customers with enthusiasm.
According to one such laundromat, they use treated water. They pick up and deliver at the customer`s doorstep as well. Many laundromats have a monthly scheme. This particular one, for example, does under 715 clothes for Rs. 5000 a month, which is around Rs. 7 per piece. We use R-O treated water for washing and provide pick-up and delivery within the city. Orders come in from bachelors, working professionals and joint families alike, they say.
Another laundromat says, (Our) machines have controlled water supply to ensure clothes remain durable. Therefore, besides cutting on ironing charges, in the long run, it also reduces the number of times one needs to replace his wardrobe. This has clicked with the urban population with more than 80,000 customers in Chennai soon opting for our services.
Customers are happy. I use Wassup (a laundromat) once every month for heavy laundry and sometimes for drycleaning. During the floods, their services were of great help, says a resident of Velachery.
