1 billion users on WhatsApp

WhatsApp, the mobile messaging platform owned by Facebook has absorbed over one billion users. About 42 billion messages get exchanged each and every day, say Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.
Such a service connecting a billion of people is very few. This milestone achieved by WhatsApp is of very high importance to us, says his Facebook post. Every day, about 1.6 billion photos and 250 million videos are being shared in a day-to-day basis.
Ever since joining Facebook, WhatsApp has seen double growth. The free calling feature comes in handy to get in touch with loved ones with ease. The subscription fee is also waived off which is an added advantage, says Facebook founder. More people are intended to get connected and the platform will be made easier for business communication.
