14 per cent increase in hiring in IT sector this year, says report

According to a report released by staffing services firm Teamlease Services, there will be a rise in hiring in the IT sector this year. The report also says that 2.5 lakh new job openings can be expected from this sector. A shift in the business focus to being a solution provider rather than a service provider is believed to be one of the reasons for the up trend. There was a rise of 12 per cent rise in hiring last year. The estimated rise is year is 14 per cent. 

Speaking about this, Teamlease said, With companies focusing on technology and digitisation, the hiring focus has shifted from scale to skill. More and more companies are realizing that while they require traditional skills, it is the acquisition of niche skills that will be the game changer.

In the IT sector, digital marketing is expected to be the largest hiring profile. This will require the candidate to devise new methods and strategies that will encourage people to visit the company`s website and take part in conversations related to it. 

The report said that user interface and user experience designers, full-stack web developers, product developers, mobile product development engineers, business analysts, information security analysts, cloud architects/integration, data scientists, and content management system (CMS) are other profiles that will be hired.
