The wintery, chilly mornings can result in joint pain. According to experts, When it`s damp or cold, and the weather gets worse, we can really feel it in our joints. Cold joints tend to be stiffer in cold weather - warm joints are more mobile. It`s due to barometic pressure. In time, this leads to arthritis.

So how does one curb the onset of arthritis? First and foremost, maintain a healthy Body Mass Index or BMI. A BMI of 25 and above is considered overweight.

Stress is a cause for joint pains, and its resulting arthritis. Stress causes muscle tension which, in turn, makes pain worse. Make sure to get a good night`s sleep.

Sitting up straight and maintaining good posture helps reduces aches and pains. Keep in mind your posture, especially while sitting at your desk.

If you have joint pains, study your diet and try to identify if any vitamins or minerals are missing. Deficiency of calcium leads to osteoporosis. Include dairy, Broccoli and almonds in your diet. If needed, see your doctor about adding a supplement.
