Commercial operations of Metro Rail is unlikely due to election code of conduct

During the third week of February, trial runs of Metro Rail on the Alandur to Airport elevated stretch as well as the underground line from Koyambedu to Shenoy Nagar, are likely to commence paving way for early commercial operations.
The signals are being installed. Trials on the 6 km stretch between Alandur to airport could still take place.
But would the line be opened before the Assembly elections? It seems unlikely, say sources, with the election code of conduct likely to pose a hurdle. Officials however, feel that the entire elevated stretch would be opened for commercial operations in June.
