Election Commission Chief discussed with all district collectors in Chennai today

Tamil Nadu assembly Elections are set to be conducted during coming April or May.
Tamil Nadu Election Commission has been making all preparations for this occasion.
Electronic Voting Machines have been brought from Pune and kept under protection in Salem.
Now, election commission has decided to conduct training for the officers to be deployed during election.
As per this plan, district election officers (collectors), district Police Superintendents, revenue Taluk Officers, etc are being given training in various phases.
The officers in Southern districts & Kongu districts have already been trained.
In the 3rd phase, training conference was conducted at Chennai Greenways Road Anna Management Training Centre.
8 district collectors from Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, and Krishnagiri, Police Superintendents, and Revenue Officers participated in this meeting.
Tamil Nadu Election Commission Chief Mr. Raja Lakhani presided over the conference.
The conference commenced at 10.00 AM today (Thursday, 28th January). Discussions were held on how to undertake the various election activities and how to conduct the elections in an amicable & peaceful manner.
After the conference, Tamil Nadu Election Chief Rajesh Lakhani had a session with press reporters.
He informed that training is imparted to the officers about how to conduct the elections peacefully. The training included regarding issues like how to undertake the various election activities, how to offer protection for public, contestants and poll booths, etc. A new latest software is intended to be used for the coming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.
The latest technology is being adopted in all activities including electronic machines. Training is given on how to employ them.
For the government employees, teachers, and policemen, special arrangement has been made to cast their votes by post.
Various ideas are given for the voting of election servants whose names are in the Voters list, how to cast votes online, etc.
There are 6000 polling booths in Tamil Nadu. Discussions are being held on how to help the differently-abed persons to visit these booths and vote without any difficulties.
Facility is available for the voters who have their names listed in more than 1 location. The public can verify these themselves and remove their duplicate entries.
