New instant messaging app - n-gage

Competing with most commonly used communication platforms like WhatsApp and Viber, here comes n-gage. The instant messaging app got launched in India on Thursday, targeting to enter the world of mobile internet base in India.
The app was developed for about two years. It provides additional security to users aided by several features There is also a desktop version of the app which works independent of smartphones, said Ajit Patel, the CEO of n-gage. He however has not given any figures about the targeted number of customers.
As per reports, the first in the list of instant messaging services in India is WhatsApp. Here there is a huge chunk of one billion global users.
In the past few years, instant messaging apps lie Hike, Line, Viber and others have seen manifold growth, as there is increasing internet usage and decreasing data charges.
Just like WhatsApp and Viber, and other messaging apps, n-gage also allows user send and receive messages, photos and videos. Apart from this, the app also allows sharing encrypted messages which means users can share password protected messages. It is also possible to disable others from capturing snapshots of the conversation.
The CEO added that the message can also be sent to other platforms, but to give reply to the message, the recipient must have n-gage installed. Patel added that n-gage currently focuses on gaining more users more than reaping revenues. There are works going on to build a conversation platform for enterprises for employee communication. They are in talks with a few firms.
