Magalir Mela 2016 inaugurated

An exhibition of products manufactured by women self-help groups, Magalir Mela, was inaugurated by Social Welfare Minister B Valarmathi and Local administration minister S.P. Velumani on Thursday. Magalir Mela is organized by Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women and is being held at Mother Teresa Women`s Complex in Nungambakkam from 21st January to 21st February.
Women from as many as 32 districts Ariyalur, Chennai, Karur, Krishnagiri, Trichy and Thoothukudi among others are participating in the exhibition.
Products on sale include Thoothukudi Muscoth Halwa, bedsheets, honey, wax products, saris, chilli and rasam powders and agarbathis. This expo is part of the first phase of a Government-aided welfare scheme.
Timings are from 10.30 AM to 8.30 PM.
