Thai Poosam Festival commenced with grand Flag-hoisting Ceremony

The Thai Poosam traditionally celebrated in a grand manner by Palani Lord Muruga Temple has commenced today (Monday, 18th January).
The Flag-hoisting ceremony and special Poojas were performed at the sanctum sanctorum of Goddess Periyanaki Amman.
Thai Poosam festival will be celebrated for 10 days.
The grand event of Lord Muthukumaraswamy`s marriage with His Consorts Valli & Deivanai is scheduled to be performed on 23 January.
The grand chariot procession is scheduled on 24th January.
Devotees from other districts of Tamil Nadu have started streaming in visiting Palani for this famous festival by travelling through walk (Pada-yatra)
