Tamilnadu Final Voter List 2016 to be released on 20th

The tenure of fourteenth Assembly of Tamil Nadu ends in May 22, 2016. Hence the elections should be conducted before that date. The Election Commission is now gearing up its arrangements.
At this juncture, work related to the final list of voters will begin on Monday at 6 constituencies of Namakkal District. On 20th the election commission officials will release the final list of voters.
The Election Commission has announced special summary revision of electoral rolls of Assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu with reference to 1 January, 2015 as the qualifying date.
The draft rolls were be published in all districts in the designated locations.
As on date there are 5, 48, 71,374 voters in Tamil Nadu. Those above 18 years and intending to add their names in the rolls were also permitted to apply between 15 October and 10 November this year and their names would appear in the final rolls, which would be released on 1 January, 2015.
Tamilnadu Final Voter List 2016 was supposed to be published on 5th January. Since there were heavy rains in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore Districts, special camps were set up in order to issue fresh voters card to the people who have missed it in the rains and floods. Because of this, the release of final voter list is postponed ton 20th. For the convenience of people the list is also being uploaded in EC website.
The election will take place during the last week of February or first week of May.
