Increase inH1B & L1 Visa charges: Additional $ 4000/- to be paid!

USA has increased the H1B & L1 VISA charges.
In a press release regarding American Citizenship & Immigration, the persons applying for H1B Visa will have to pay an additional $ 4000/- above the prevailing rates.
This has been declared effective from 18th December, 2015.
Similarly, the persons applying for L1A & LB Visas will have to pay an additional US $ 4500/-.
Several technology companies have employed non US citizens (Indians) in their companies operating in USA. These companies will have to bear the above additional charges while obtaining Visas for their new employees.
This rule will be especially applicable for the Hi-tech Companies which have employed more than 50 persons or the companies who have 50% employees on H1B or L (L1A & LB).
This rule will be in vogue till 30th September, 2025.
As per the press release of NASSCOM during September 2015, Indian Hi-tech companies contribute about Rs. 7 to 8 Crores per year to US Treasury.
With the introduction of recent increase in VISA charges, US will earn a revenue of US $ 100 to 160 Crores per year from the Indian Hi-tech corporations.
