Lit for Life - The annual Literary festival organised by The Hindu from today (15th January)

One of the biggest annual literary events, ‘Lit for Life’, organised by The newspaper ‘The Hindu’, is inaugurated today (Friday, 15th January) at Sri Mutha Venkata Subba Rao Concert Hall, Harrington Road, Cheptet, Chennai.
The festival closes on 17th January (Sunday).
Mr. N. Ram, Chairman of Kasturi & Sons Limited will deliver the inaugural speech.
The welcome address will be delivered by Ms. Nirmala Lakshmanan,
Director of Kasturi & Sons Limited and Curator of ‘Lit for Life’.
Mr. Rajiv Lochan, CEO, Kasturi & Sons Limited will speak about the event.
Former Kashmir Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah, will deliver the keynote address on ‘My Kashmir’ at 10.00 AM.
Programmes for Friday:
· Cities Under water from Srinagarto Chennai –M. Saleem Beg, Professor S. Janakiraman, & Nityanand jayaram in conversation with Gopalakrishna Gandhi (11.00 AM0
· ‘Sing my song: Duality of performance & Creativity, of tradition & individuality’ – Sanjay Subramanyan in conversation with Nirmala Lakshmanan (12.00 Noon).
· ‘Picturing Time: Raghu Rai’s most famous photographs and stories behind them – Raghu Rai in conversation with Sadanand Menon (12.50 PM)
· ‘The uses & abuses of religion’ – Devdutt Pattnaik & Laila Tyabji in conversation with N Ram (6.15 PM)
Sessions will be conducted at the Hindu pavilion also.
The programmes & session will continue on 16th January as well.
