Road restoration in full swing

The Highways department has completed nearly 40 percent of road restoration works and the remaining is targeted to be wrapped up by end of January.
Recent floods in Chennai city had devastated roads of over 4800 km stretch. A sum of Rs 150 crore is granted for these restoration works on roads, culverts, causeways and other structures at 119 landslide points. 54 of 143 culverts are so far restored. In another two days, the traffic on Kanagammachathiram-Thakkolam Road in Tiruvallur Division will be sorted. This got collapsed on 24th November 2015.
