Sabarimala cant ban women, says SC

The Supreme Court has said that women cannot be banned from Sabarimala temple. However, a verdict on the issue has not been delivered yet.
The temple does not allow women between the ages of 10 and 50 into its premises. The rule was introduced by the Travancore Devasom Board and many women have contended the mandate in an appeal to the Supreme Court.
The judges who heard the case set the date for the next hearing on Feb. 8. The temple cannot prohibit entry (women), except on the basis of religion. Unless you have a constitutional right, you cannot prohibit entry, they said.
