EC to train officials for Assembly poll

The process of training officials at various levels on election management in view of the ensuing polls to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly due in the next three to four months has been started by The Election Commission of India.
 
Imparting of training to officials at various levels on Election Management has already commenced with 15 officers from the state trained by the Election Commission of India during the period December eight to 14 last year.
 
These State Level Master Trainers have imparted training to District Level Master Trainers - two officers from each district - and these officers were trained at Chennai on various aspects of Electoral Management on December 21 and 22.
 
16 Nodal Officers were appointed in all districts in various subjects relating to elections.
 
They were imparted specialized training in their respective subjects at four regional centres--Chennai, Madurai, Salem and Tiruchirappalli--from December 28, 2015 to January eight this year by the District Level Master Trainers.
 
Realizing the importance of imparting training skills to these Master Trainers, the Election Commission today started a four-day Training of Trainers and Facilitators (TTF) Programme at the Anna Institute of Management in the city from 10th. The programme would continue till January 13.During this training, the State Level Master Trainers, District Level Master Trainers in addition to two Assembly Level Master Trainers drawn from all the districts would be imparted an effective training for improving their training skills.
 
In the first phase at Chennai, 94 participants are being trained. In the  second phase at Bhavanisagar in Erode District, 49 participants would be trained from January 19 to 22.
