The central government has planned to convert all enquiries and details through e-mail system
The Income Tax Department has announced that this will come into effect from the Financial year 2016-17.

The IT Department also feels that this measure will check the rampant corruption in practice in the department.
IT Department informed that the trial run for this exercise has been taken up in 5 cities including Chennai and proved successful.
IT Department also informed that over 50 Lakh IT returns filed online have been checked on the electronic medium.
