Police & traders discuss the importance of installing CCTV Cameras in public places in Neelankarai area

In order to prevent the frequent incidents of crime happening in the areas like Kottivakkam, Palavakkam, Neelankarai, Vettuvankeni, Injambakkam, and Akkarai falling under the jurisdiction of Neelankarai Police Station, 530 CCTV surveillance monitoring cameras have been installed so far in important public spots like canal area, coast roads, and others.
Further, CCTV surveillance monitoring cameras have been installed inside the complexes where hotels and shops are functioning. However, CCTV cameras have not been installed outside. Because of this, culprits could not be caught whenever there are unlawful incidents and also to prevent further crimes.
Hence, an awareness campaign was conducted by the Neelankarai Police Station about installation of CCTV Monitoring cameras even in all the important open public spots in a marriage hall. Neelankarai Inspector Mr. Bhaskaran presided over the meeting/discussions.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Shanker participated in the camp and explained the importance of installing CCTV cameras and safety aspects and sought the help of large traders to help install the same. Traders, Hotel owners, Pawn-shop owners, and Supermarket officials, numbering over 100 participated in the awareness camp.
