24 RPFs deployed in basin bridge throughout the day & nights for 3 Shifts

Railway Protection Force in action to prevent unlawful incidents in the railway signal area near Basin Bridge Station 24 Policemen deployed in 3 shifts throughout the day & night. It is normal for the signals to operate in the area between Korukkupettai & Basin Bridge stations in order to allow express trains & electric trains to cross. It is also usual the certain trains need to stop for more than an hour to move.
During this period of waiting, it has become a frequent incident for anti-social elements and miscreants have been entering these waiting trains and steal money, jewelry, and personal belongings from the passengers.
Because of this, the passengers panic and cross this area with extreme fear. They had complained several times with the Railway Protection Force. Following this, the Railway Protection Force has taken emergency action. As per this, 3 shifts have been arranged throughout the 24 hours of the day with 8 policemen on duty in each shift.
The policemen on duty have been equipped with latest guns & charging lights for use in nights. The policemen have been on duty since the last 2 days. However, it must be mentioned that some basic amenities like toilets, restrooms, and drinking water etc. have not been provided for this security staff. The non-availability of these basic amenities has put the duty policemen to severe hardship.
