The number of internet user in India touches 50 Crores

The central minister, Mr. Ravishankar Prasad has informed that the number of internet users in India will cross 50 Crores.
The central Minister for telecommunications, Mr. Ravishankar Prasad, while participating in a debate in New Delhi, informed that a target had been set for the internet users to cross the 50 Crore mark. Already, 40 Crores are using interment services. By the next year (2016), this figure will definitely cross the 50 Crore mark.
The central government has planned to provide internet facility for 2.5 Lakh village panchayats through fibre-optic cables.
Under the project, digital India, a survey will be undertaken to confirm that educational & health services are extended and in operation in every state.
Under this project, the facilities like education through internet services, treatment of patients using telecommunication services, installation of LED lamps in villages with Wi-Fi facilities, etc will be given top priority.
