Election Commissioners to visit Chennai to decide and fix the date for Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections

It is expected that the Legislative Assembly Elections in Tamil Nadu may be conducted during May, 2016.
Assembly Elections are to be conducted in some states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam, and Pudhucherry before May next year. Hence, the election commissioners are visiting these states to decide on the preparation and planning for the assembly elections.
At first, they visited Assam on Monday, 20th December to conduct discussions.
They are expected to visit Chennai on 25th January.
Election Commissioner have planned to invite the representatives of political parties to decide whether to conduct the assembly elections in a single stage or 2 stages.
Once the suggestions & viewpoints from the discussions in the 5 states are gathered, the Commissioners will decide the time table for General Assembly Elections for these 5 states.
