Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department to issue smart cards

Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department has mentioned that smart cards will be be issued to ration cards holders. The data from the UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) was being awaited. Once the cards are issued and the electronic monitored office in place, the PDS will be highly efficient. At the click of a mouse, details such as who purchased which commodity from which shop and how much supplies a customer is entitled to and how much of stock is left can be found.
