Holidays for schools from 24th December to 1st January

S. Kannappan, Director of School Education has mentioned that there will be holidays for schools from 24th December to 1st January on the occasion of Milad-un-Nabi, Christmas and New Year.
The schools in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore districts were closed for 33 days because of heavy rains. Because of this, the education of students was badly affected.
At this juncture, Milad-un-Nabi falls on 24th, Christmas on 25th and New Year on 1st. Teachers and students were in a state of confusion that whether holidays will be declared or not.
At this juncture, S. Kannappan, Director of School Education mentioned that holidays for the schools for the year 2015-2016 have already been decided. This has been circulated to all schools. Milad-un-Nabi, Christmas and New Year are also in this list. No special classes for SSLC and Plus 2 students should be conducted on 24th, 25th, 27th and 1st January in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Cuddalore. Special classes should be conducted on some other dates.
