Many a times, we have wondered if there could be any possible mode of transport that can escape us from the hectic traffic on roads, especially during peak hours. Here comes the solution! A new transport service that will make your dream come true is likely to get launched.
A mobile taxi aggregator is at the verge of introducing motorcycle and scooter taxies in Chennai. These will be better modes of transportation as compared to four wheelers on congested city roads.
The service was launched in Bengaluru at first in a pilot basis on Wednesday. The cofounder of the service Vishal Kumar said he has got an intention of launching the service in Chennai as the city is a promising one for two-wheeler transport business. We are looking at Chennai as a part of our plans, he added.
We need to discuss this with the government and transport officials. This service would have got rolled out earlier, but there is a delay due to floods and its aftereffects. We hope things to get back to normalcy very soon. Once it`s normal, we’ll extend our services here.
He also added that his company conducted a study which showed that a motorist can cut down on his travel time by 70 percent using this service, as compared to traveling in car or auto.
On launching our service, there were 1000 downloads in Bengaluru, he says. A detailed background check is done for each and every employee he recruits.
When asked whether Hey Bob wail charge the same rates as in Bengaluru which is Rs 10 for the first two kilometers and Rs 5 for each and every additional kilometer, he said he will have to discuss about fixing the rate with the Tail Nadu transport officials for the same.
Motorcycle and scooter taxi services are popular in countries like Thailand, UK, the US, Sweden, Brazil and Indonesia.
Similar service in the name Baxi comprising 23 motorbike taxis was launched in Guragon during the early days of this month. Single customers for short distance travel are the focus for Baxi.
