Rajalakshmi Group to help class 12 students

The Chennai based Rajalakshmi Group of Educational Institutions, who have pioneered higher education in the last 17 years have decided to reach out to the student community who have been affected by the unprecedented rains and floods in Chennai.
Addressing the Media, Dr. Mrs. Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions said, We are aware of the terrible situation that the school students, particularly 12th standard students will be going through because most of them have lost all their books, study and reference materials. With the Board exams just a few months away, we took a decision to offer special classes in Maths and Sciences to any student who is interested, free of cost. Prof. Dr. Muthuswamy, Head, Department of Humanities and Sciences highlighted the tuition facility and the 3 centres where students could go depending on their residential location. They are at Kilpauk, Ramapuram and Sriperumbudur bypass. The classes will be conducted on weekends and starts from Dec 19th.
In another humanitarian but impacting gesture, Rajalakshmi Institutions intend to give a helping hand to many flood affected small time vendors and businessmen. This includes identifying the needy vendors, rehabilitating sick businesses, offering business opportunities in the campus, training and guiding them to approach new markets, etc. Those interested should contact, Mr. S. On the academic front, Rajalakshmi Engineering College has been rated as the Topmost College amongst 500 plus non- autonomous Engineering Institutions, by the recently published University rank list of Anna University.
Rajalakshmi has secured 5 First Ranks in the following disciplines: Automobile Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology (UG & PG) and Software Engineering. REC has to its credit a total of 92 University ranks out of which 65 are obtained by UG students and 27 by PG students.
