ISRO to launch Singapore satellites today

The ISRO`s (Indian Space Research Organisation) PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) will launch six satellites from Sriharikota today. The Singapore satellites in ride on the PSLV C29. It will be launched from the first launchpad of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 6.00pm. 

The ISRO has said that the 59 hour countdown began at 7.00am yesterday. The Mission has been named the PSLV-C29/ TeLEOS-1 Mission. The PS4 stage falling off the propellant has been completed. The six satellites will be launched into a 550 km circular orbit inclined at 15 degrees to the equator. The PSLV is on its 32nd flight without the use of solid strap on motors. 

Out of the six, the primary satellite is TeLEOS-1 that weighs 400 kgs. The others include two micro satellites and 3 nano satellites. TeLEOS-1 will be the first Singapore commercial earth observation satellite. The ISRO`s commercial segment, Antrix Corporation Ltd., has provided services for 51 customers satellites from 20 countries.
