Kalal Tax on Petrol & Diesel increased

The central government has announced the increase in Kalal Tax on petrol & diesel.

An additional Kalal tax will be Rs.0.30 per litre on petrol and Rs. 1.17 per litre on diesel.

Due to the price reduction in the international market, the prices of petrol was reduced by Rs. 0.50 per litre on petrol and Rs. 0.46 per litre on diesel from midnight (15/16th December).

The opposition parties have been consistently demanding that the full benefits of the price reduction in the international market should be extended to the customers, 

In this scenario, with the token price reduction announced yesterday midnight, the central government has now announced the increase in Kalal tax on petrol and diesel.

It is estimated that the central government would earn a revenue of Rs. 2500 Crores through this measure.Up to the last increase in Kalal Tax on petrol & diesel, the central government earns a revenue of Rs. 19.36 for petrol per litre and Rs. 18,63 per litre for diesel.

The oil corporation circles are expecting that there would be no increase in price of petrol & diesel.
