Schools may cut-short Christmas vacation

The unanticipated closure of schools in Tamil Nadu due to fortnight-long heavy rains has impelled education administrators in the state to mull a series of options including shrinking the half-yearly vacations to make up for the lost time.
Every year, schools are closed for a week during the Christmas week from December 23 to January 2..
According to director of school education S. Kannapan, since the half-yearly examination was postponed to January the subsequent vacation following the examination in December has also been cancelled.
