Jayalalithaa demands Modi to postpone civil services main exams

Chief minister J Jayalalithaa exhorted the Centre on Sunday to postpone the civil services main examinations scheduled from December 18, by at least two months to allow TN students prepare sufficiently as their studies have been gravely disturbed by the floods.
Inside a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jayalalithaa asked him to use his good offices with the Union Public Service Commission to postpone the examinations to allow the aspirants make up for lost time. This would provide the TN students a level playing field with their counterparts, she has stated.
She said, There was considerable interruption to various services including electricity supply. Schools and colleges are expected to reopen only December 14.
