Banks likely to remain shut for 4 long days

As Christmas and Milad un Nabi falls shortly, holidays are announced to banks. Milad un Nabi is on 23rd December and Christmas is on 25th. The 26th December falls to be 4th Saturday which is a holiday and 27th is Sunday which is a holiday yet again. Amidst these, there is information that Milad un Nabi is changed to 24th December. If the announcement about change of date gets final, banks will not function from 24th to 27th of December.
There is also a possibility for cancelling these holidays due to devastating effects of rain showers and flood in Tamil Nadu, said a senior official from Canara Bank.
