RIP: Dr. M. A. M. Ramaswamy, the multi-faceted Humanitarian

Dr. M. A. M. Ramaswamy, who anchored the Chettinad Group of Companies, passed away in Chennai on December 2nd at the age of 84. He was a Member of the Parliament and the Pro-Chancellor of Annamalai University.
A condolence meeting was called by the Chettinad Family led by Mr. MAMR Muthiah, MD, Chettinad Group on 11th December (Friday) at Rani Seethai Hall. The meeting was attended by more than 500 people and the hall was full packed, while many patiently stood to listen to the condolence speech made by the dignitaries.
Mr. Duraisamy Raju, Former Judge, Mr. N. Srinivasan, MD, India Cements, , Mr. K. Srikanth, Former Cricketer, Mr. V. Bhaskaran, Former Hockey Player, Mr. R. Ramakrishnan, President, Madras Race Club were present during the meet.
Mr. MAMR Muthiah said, All the progress I have achieved so father is duly because of my father, Dr. MAM Ramaswamy`s blessings. He had so much faith in me and gave me important role in the Chettinad Group at a very young age. He taught me with business subtlety and financial discipline. He was a great guide, lovable grandfather, an ardent sport enthusiast, an immense fan of arts, whether music or literature, generous humanitarian and certainly the greatest businessman of his time. The huge loss of his demise can never be spared. I am proud of being the son of this Great Man and Chettinadu family pledge to take forward the good work done by this noble soul.
A biography of Dr. MAM Ramaswamy named Dr. MAMR - Oru Sagaptham was also released during the meeting.
