Dont ask residents to buy cables: TANGEDCO

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) had taken many efforts to restore its power connections after recent Chennai deluge. At a time when people are appreciating TANGEDCO efficiency, there is also a black mark on the department since the field staff are demanding the consumers to purchase power cables in order to get the cable faults repaired.
In view of this , the Director (Distribution) of TANGEDCO has issued a notice to local engineers and field staff, asking them not to insist that consumers provide cables for restoration of supply. Only the cables stocked with the Department, can used. Severe action will be initiated against those who do not follow this instruction.
A senior TANGEDCO official said people with complaints could contact 28514955.
