Slips to be issued in lieu of damaged ration card

The Tamil Nadu Government has announced that the new copy of ration card for those of who have lost their cards due rains will be issued in a week`s time.
Many living in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Cuddalore and Kancheepuram have lost their ration cards due to heavy rains. The Tamil Nadu government has mentioned that new cards will be issued in lieu of damaged or displaced cards in a special camp which is to be held from 14th of this month.
No documentary evidence is required to obtain this ration card. An application on a pure white paper is enough. Officials say that the cards will be issued within a week`s time. Meanwhile a slip will be issued to purchase commodities from ration shop.
