Ann Benfield Info: Tamil Nadus Loss in recent floods is Rs. 20000 Crores

International natural Disaster estimation company Ann Benfield has estimated that the losses due to the recent floods in Tamil Nadu may be Rs. 20000 Crores.
In a latest report released, Ann Benfield informs that mainly due to the combined effects of Northeast Monsoon & El Nino, there were heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Andhra, and Sri Lanka.
It makes particular mention of the rains which started in November and lasted till the 1st week of December had severely affected the major part of the state of Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
With Chennai city flooded and deluged heavily, the report estimates that the losses for Tamil Nadu might be about Rs. 20000 Crores.
As per this report, General Insurance Company has estimated that there might be insurance coverage claims totalling to Rs. 2000 Crores.
